Hello and Welcome to Hideaway Lane!

One gets the feeling of hiding away from the stress of the daily world, hence "Hideaway Lane."
Arriving at the end of Hideaway Lane sits five acres of peace and quiet. Any noise from the everyday world is distant for it sits a quarter mile off the road and any neighbors. Almost like an island of my own. Except surrounded by fields, not water.
The field work is almost always done while I am at work so I hardly notice it being done, with the exception of the smell in the air of fresh tilled soil which I love.
Before off to work the daily ritual is to feed my yearling angus heifer "Trixy" from my hand (she's spoiled!). And gathering fresh eggs from the new six pullets I bought this year. Count was up to four yesterday! Two more need to get to work! They haven't been named yet!
After the thirty mile drive home from work, I'm looking forward to that trip down the lane to solitude and family of animals. Two cocker spaniel dogs and four cats are as much family as my kids and grandkids.
Can't wait for spring so I can putter around outside.
P.S. With luck maybe my pair of peafowl will give me a hatching of baby chicks this year.
There is a story behind the rock wall in front of the house. The summer we moved in my youngest son took it upon himself a project of digging up the foundation rock from the original barn that had stood on the place. Every night I'd come home and find a pile of rocks, so we started a rock wall!!
As you explore my site, you'll find many stores and products that you won't find anywhere else on the internet.
